dangerous for individuals over sixty years of age.

|

|
Goal:
|
Our only goal is to assist you in detoxifying from all addicting drugs. If
you are using marijuana or other drugs and want to continue them, SAVE YOUR
MONEY!!!! We can't help you.
|
|
Sobriety:
|
Detoxification is only the first small step toward sobriety, and is the easiest.
"Getting clean is easy, staying clean is hard.” If there is no commitment
towards some type of rehab program, you are wasting your time and money.
|
|
Insurance Coverage:
|
At the present time we do not have contracts with any insurance
companies for this type of outpatient services. You will be
asked to sign an agreement acknowledging you are responsible for
payment in its entirety. If you have Medicare insurance,
you are not eligible for this program, as it is not a covered
benefit.
|
|
Early Withdrawal or
Termination from the Program: |
If you decide you made a mistake or you are not satisfied with
our services, or we terminate our relationship with you (this
will only be done for specific reasons,) a portion of
your global payment will be refunded. Continued drinking during detox. or abusive behavior is cause for termination. The charges
for our services are accrued according to the following
schedule: Initial Addiction medicine evaluation $300.00 and
subsequent follow-up visits are $150.00 each. There will be 2-3
visits weekly during this 30-day period. Telephone calls to
adjust treatment will also be charged at a rate that is
appropriate for the amount of time spent on the call. There
will not be any additional costs to you, above the global fee
charges unless you are seen for medical problems not related to
your detoxification e.g. bladder infections, bronchitis, minor
injuries, etc.
|
|
Detoxification Visits:
|
After the initial evaluation is completed, appropriate
medications will be prescribed and instructions given to your
friend or family member, who is monitoring your detoxification.
Your friend or family member will be giving you medicine
(usually a benzodiazepine e.g. Serax) for the withdrawal
symptoms. Appropriate medications for sleep, plus vitamins and
minerals will be prescribed.
Follow-up visits will
include an appropriate examination and an interview of the
relative or friend, who is dispensing the medicines. This is to
determine the appropriate dosing schedule for the next few
days. Telephone calls to the treating doctor will also be used
when appropriate or necessary to adjust the dose of medication.
|
|
Medications |
The global fee does not include medications. If you have a
health insurance plan with prescription coverage, most of your
detox meds will be covered.
|
|
Laboratory Tests:
|
Some basic laboratory tests will be ordered at the time of the
initial visit. We do not have a lab and the global fee does not
include these tests. Most insurance plans will pay for them.
These tests are essential to evaluate your liver and blood
systems, to see if alcohol has caused significant damage that
may require further medical treatment.
|
|
Post Detox Medications:
|
There are medications that can be used after detoxification to
reduce the risk of relapse. These medicines will only be
prescribed if you are involved in an ongoing structured
program. If you are on these medicines after detox, you will
need ongoing medical follow-up (usually monthly) at our office
or the office of your own physician. These subsequent visits
are not covered by the global detoxification fee.
|
|
Behavior:
|
Abusive attitudes toward our staff or other patients will not be
tolerated, either in person or on the telephone. If abusive
behavior continues after talking to your physician, you will be
discharged.
